AMD Silo AI is initiating a collaboration with the Autoware Foundation, the world’s leading open-source software for autonomous driving. Autoware powers deployments across 500+ companies, 30+ vehicle types, and 20+ countries and is built to support commercial-grade, production-ready and safety-certifiable autonomous driving technologies.

This collaboration will accelerate Autoware’s end-to-end AI model training and deployment pipeline using AMD Instinct™ and Radeon™ Pro GPUs, uniting scalable compute platforms from AMD with Autoware’s open-source autonomous driving ecosystem.
By combining Autoware’s end-to-end AI stack with AMD’s GPU infrastructure and ROCm™ software, the collaboration aims to deliver faster training cycles, higher-accuracy AI models, and optimized inference for production-ready autonomous systems.
“Autoware’s mission has always been to enable an open and globally scalable ecosystem for autonomous mobility,” said Daisuke Tanaka, President of The Autoware Foundation. “Working with industry leaders like AMD demonstrates the power of open collaboration, combining cutting-edge compute platforms with open-source autonomy to accelerate innovation across OEMs, suppliers, research institutions, and startups worldwide.”
The initial focus will be on optimizing Autoware’s AutoDrive end-to-end model for production-grade Level 2+ autonomy targeting automotive OEMs on AMD Instinct GPUs, ensuring seamless performance across diverse model architectures and deployment settings, from training to real-time inference.
The Autoware Foundation is a voting member of SOAFEE (Scalable Open Architecture For the Embedded Edge). The Autoware Open AD Kit is the first SOAFEE blueprint for Software-Defined Vehicles and provides a full-stack open source SDV platform for autonomous driving, which now includes end-to-end AI models.
“Together with The Autoware Foundation, our Mobility ecosystem enhances open stack development for customers seeking silicon diversity and transparent, scalable software,” said Niko Vuokko, Sr. Director at AMD Silo AI. “Autoware’s open-source software, combined with AMD’s compute infrastructure, shortens development cycles and supports safer, faster innovation.”
This collaboration reinforces AMD Silo AI’s commitment to building an open and scalable Mobility ecosystem, spanning edge compute, digital twin simulation, andw large-scale AI cloud workloads. It builds on recent AMD Silo AI initiatives with Parallel Domain, Robotec.ai and AILiveSim in simulation, generative modeling, and world modeling.
The joint work will also include open source releases, reflecting both organizations’ commitment to transparency, interoperability, and responsible AI development.
